There are two major festivals in Swindon. They are Festival on the Farm and the Swindon Music Festival. The Festival on the Farm is a small festival for all of the local artists in Swindon. The farm is located on the edge of Swindon and allows the music lovers to get up and close and personal with the artists. The festival is set to run for three days and three nights on July 22th through the 24th. There is a place for people to camp out so they can stay at the festival all weekend long if they want to.
The tickets range from $30.00 and up, it is according to the days that you come to the festival and how many days you plan to attend. On Friday night, there will be a beer tent set up for food and beverages. On Saturday and Sunday morning, guests will be treated to home cooked meal and the Sunday paper. There are a lot of kid friendly activities to do on Saturday. The featured acts on Friday will be Will and the People, Hot Rox, Penfold, The Costello’s, and The Fixed. Saturday there will be a tribute to some of the best artists.
The Swindon Music Festival is Swindon’s way to teaching musical arts to all ages. During the festival, they will provide music classes to anyone who would like to take one. Most of the classes are held at the Christ Church with St Mary?s and the Arts Centre. The festival was help on March 23rd and 24th. Some of these classes include Adult Vocal Classes, Jazz Classes, Brass Classes, Junior Vocal Classes, Choral Classes, Pianoforte Classes, Church Organ, Recital Classes, Composition Classes, Recorder Classes, Electronic Keyboard Classes, String Classes, Guitar Classes, and Woodwind Classes (Excluding Recorder). Most of the music that is provided for the festival for different recitals from the people who have taken some of these classes before.
Some of the other festivals that go on in Swindon are Harold Jolliffe One Act Play Festival, Swindon Festival of Literature, Swindon Kite Festival, Real Ale, Cider & Jazz Festival, Family Cycling Festival, British One Act Play Festival, Swindon Railway Festival, and Swindon Beer Festival.
